Benefits Information and Enrollment

AgeOptions staff will connect you to our partner agencies that can assist with enrollment in programs in areas such as prescription drugs, medical care, food and utilities.
AgeOptions is a Benefits Enrollment Center designated by the National Council on Aging and can assist older adults and people with disabilities receive information about benefits, be screened for eligibility and receive assistance in enrolling in public benefit programs at community-based locations. SHIP – (Senior Health Insurance Program) then the description AgeOptions is a Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) site, providing health insurance counseling for Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers. SHAP – (Senior Health Assistance Program) Provides technical assistance, phone support and counseling in order to help Medicare beneficiaries eligible for the Medicare Part D benefit select and enroll in Part D plans and eligible persons (including those under the age of 60) to apply for Medicare Savings Programs (MSP), Social Security Administration’s (SSA) Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) Program, Medicare Part B Prevention and Wellness benefit and other prescription drug assistance program options. Community-based sites that are part of the Senior Health Assistance Program (SHAP) provide information, educational programs and individual counseling for older adults, people with disabilities and those who care for them about programs that help pay for prescriptions. For more information on SHAP program https://www2.illinois.gov/services/AGE/shap.
