Volunteer with SMP

Volunteers with the Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program are working to ensure fewer people in Illinois become victims of health care fraud. With training and support from the Illinois SMP Program and its partners, SMP volunteers provide outreach and education in their communities.

Volunteering with the Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Program

By giving presentations to groups, hosting exhibits at community events, and providing one-on-one counseling, volunteers help spread the message of Protect, Detect, and Report to every part of the state of Illinois.

Call the Illinois SMP Volunteer Specialist at AgeOptions at (800)699-9043 for more information about how you can get involved in your community as an SMP volunteer.

Current SMP Volunteers

Safety Checklist for Venue Sites

Illinois SMP volunteers doing outreach in the community should work with their coordinator to complete this safety checklist. The purpose is to ensure that volunteers have access to a responsible party at each site and can prepare for any potential safety risks.
