Illinois’ Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative integrated plans for residents eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid will end on Dec. 31, 2025. On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which will overhaul public health programs over the next decade. The law shifts Medicaid costs to states and limits their ability to raise funds, with Illinois projected to lose $52 billion and see 330,000 people uninsured. Avisery released a brief outlining on how the changes will affect low-income seniors and adults with disabilities, depending on their coverage and the rollout timeline along with an accompanied table.
